herbicides and pesticides

Farmers do this with the aid of special chemicals called herbicides and pesticides. Herbicides are chemicals that kill weeds tat compete with crops for nutrients and water. You see, pesticides are used to kill or otherwise remove pests from growing crops — "pests" being bad insects and other animals that feed on those plants. Farmers can use them to help their crops grow stronger and healthier, so they have more food for everybody else. This is highly significant, as many individuals rely on farmers to supply the necessary food.

Examining the Environmental Impact of Herbicides and Pesticides

While herbicides and pesticides help farmers protect their crops, they can also have environmental impacts that must be considered. These chemicals would occasionally get washed into rivers and lakes during rain, which could have a negative impact on the fish and other animals that live in the water. This is a serious issue as we do not wish that our water, which keeps every creature alive to be soiled. Moreover, these chemicals may be toxic to bees and other pollinators that are necessary for plant growth. Bees are so important because they pollinate flowers and help plants create seeds or fruit. Excessive use of chemicals may cause pests and weeds to become resistant. This has the potential to create a vicious circle where farmers are then forced into using more agrochemical inputs in an attempt to control it.
